Jessica Williams, MSW
Registered Social Worker
Associate and Office Manager of Health and Balance Counselling
I am a Child, Youth and Family Counsellor who has experience working alongside children and youth between the ages of 6 and 25 and their families. I have a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from the University of British Columbia and am registered with the British Columbia College of Social Workers (#11794). For 10 years my professional experiences have been driven by my passion for working with children, youth and families; these experiences span across the fields of recreation, child welfare, substance use, child and youth mental health, and crisis intervention and support.
As a counsellor, I strive to bring together my professional experience and training with the lived experiences, truths, and knowledge of the clients and families that I partner with. I enjoy exploring creative and dynamic approaches to therapy, including expression through the arts, physical activity and play, and mindfulness. My professional and academic training has been focused in the areas of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). My counselling approach is influenced by family systems theory, attachment theory, trauma-informed practice, and client-centered practices.
I am also the office manager of Health and Balance Counselling. If you are a mental health professional and have any general queries about joining our team, or have an interest in renting our space, feel free to contact me or Dr. Jurcik.
